Full-day road trip from Bariloche to the 7 Lakes route, plus Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes on Lake Lacar.

“It was one my best excursion taken, due to Mattias who is an excellent guide. His guiding both in English and Spanish was passionate and he had always contact with the clients. His knowledge was superb and was ready to reply any questions even out of the sphere of the excursion. He socialized with everyone and actually he made our day, as he is a star at his job. The lakes are all beautiful, the route starting from the steppe and entering to the forest was really charming. The stop at San Martin offered a lot of options for lunch and we were free to choose where to eat. The…”

German Footprint & Nazi presence – Walking Tour in Bariloche

2.German Footprint & Nazi presence – Walking Tour in Bariloche

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 337 reviews · 1 hour 30 minutes (approx.) · from $41Top rated

A 90-minute Bariloche walking tour on German immigration and post-war Nazi presence, with a small-group English guide. Historic, honest, and thought-provoking.

“This was an exceptional 1.5 hour walking tour in the Bariloche town centre led by our guide Diego. He was very engaging with the group and clearly explained the history of the local region and Argentina in general. He also explained the strong Germanic influence dating back 100+ years and included a comprehensive coverage of the Nazis who settled in Argentina, and Bariloche in particular, post WW2. I travel extensively and I can’t recall a tour like this that I enjoyed more. Highly recommended.”

Half-day drive around Circuito Chico with Mt Campanario and the Llao Llao Peninsula, lake views, photo stops, plus optional chairlift.

“We loved the afternoon tour. The scenery is spectacular with the highlight being the views from Cerro Campanario. It's essential and you are really missing out if you don't buy the chairlift tickets. The rest of the tour was spent driving around the lakes and admiring the scenery. We found Paz to be an excellent guide. Just one thing, since the tour was both in Spanish and English, as one of the very few English speakers on the tour is was sometimes very hard to hear as some others talked loudly when Paz was speaking in English.”

“Excellent experience and the highlight of our Bariloche trip overall! The kayaking route is gorgeous, with seemingly new views around every corner, and no other tourists in sight. The guides are outstanding and great conversationalists... we could have spent all day with Andy! Finally, lots of bonus features on this one. The route to and from the journey also takes you around the Circuito Chico sightseeing route, so you get to enjoy that tour as well. In addition, we had local snacks and a yerba mate experience while resting at the halfway point of our kayak trip. Basically a bunch of the Bariloche highlights all rolled into one!”

Bariloche: Boat Trip to Victoria Island and the Arrayanes Forest

14.Boat Trip to Victoria Island and the Arrayanes Forest

★★★★★★★★★★3.5 · 87 reviews · 6 hours (approx.) · from $189

Half-day sailing from Bariloche to Isla Victoria and the Arrayanes Forest, with trail options, a Bambi-cottage stop, and Lake Nahuel Huapi views.

“The scenery is undoubtedly spectacular, but this really is just a very expensive water taxi. It's not that comfortable either. Rather a costly ride for 1h15 on one island and 45 minutes in a forest. Both were nice to visit, but these companies have tourists cornered into paying a lot to see them. Add to it the very pricey entry into the park itself ($20 per person in 2022).”
